Lesley Birch
Born Glasgow, 1958
Inspired by Nature & the Landscape, Lesley Birch creates uplifting paintings on paper and on canvas. A professional musician in the 1980s, she likens the sensation of gesture and colour-combining to ‘that exciting moment when materiality and emotion meet – the same moment as the resolution of a hanging chord.”
Recent paintings have been inspired by positive feelings of Spring during the darkness of the Covid Crisis – these abstract pieces are hot, vibrant and energetic expressing the rebirth of Nature in full colour.
