David Grosvenor who now lives in Criccieth has been painting and exhibiting widely in Wales since moving to the area in 1991. He is now one of the most widely collected artists in Wales and he has work in private collections the world over including many European countries. He has previously had work selected for exhibition at the Royal Cambrian Academy and has work in a collection at the House of Lords as well as the National Library of Wales.
He trained at the University of Exeter during the 1970s and then went on to work in graphic design and illustration in London for 14 years before becoming a full time professional artist.
For many years he worked primarily in the medium of watercolour but over recent years has produced a large body of work in oil paint. He works mostly impasto creating a thick buttery surface to his realistic depictions the North Wales landscape and still life subjects.
